Collector inspects PHCs, fair price shops

MADURAI. The Collector, G. Sundaramurthy, on Tuesday, made a surprise visit to a few primary health centres and fair price shops in the district.
According to an official release, Mr. Sundaramurthy inspected PHCs at Chekkanoorani, Allikundam, Ezhumalai and adjoining areas.
Work schedule
On noticing that the village health nurses in a PHC had not prepared their work schedule, he directed the doctors to ensure compliance of such basic strategies required for delivery of timely healthcare.
When told that some village health nurses had gone to Athangaraipatti village on duty, he went there to check their presence. However, when the village health nurses were not seen in the village, the Collector ordered appropriate action against them.
Salesman suspended
Mr. Sundaramurthy suspended a salesman, Annadurai, at the Agricultural Cooperative Society Store in Tirunagar who was found absent during working hours. The salesman had also manipulated the weighing machine and sold 40 kg of rice that had not been accounted, the release added.
