NEW DELHI: Olympic silver medallist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore struck fine form, yet missed the final by one point in double trap in the shotgun World Cup at Maribor, Slovenia, on Tuesday. Lt. Col. Rathore shot rounds of 47, 46 and 47 for a 140, but had to be content with the ninth place in a high-scoring contest in a strong field of 43 shooters. Ronjan Sodhi fared miserably in comparison with a 134 out of 150, the same as Moraad Ali Khan. Ronjan had a series of 45, 46 and 43 and Moraad had the same scores in the reverse order. In women’s skeet, Arti Singh shot a 66 out of 75 to be placed 15th among 36 shooters. She had rounds of 23, 21 and 22. Saniya Sheikh was 23rd with a 63. The results: Men’s double trap: 1. Francesco Daniello (Ita) 192 (145); 2. Hakan Dahlby (Swe) 190 (142); 3. Walton Eller (U.S.) 188 (141); 9. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore 140; 26. Moraad Ali Khan 134; 28. Ronjan Sodhi 134.
