NEW DELHI: Heavy rain lashed the Capital on Tuesday, bringing along with it the familiar problems of traffic jams and water-logged roads.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the Capital received 6.3 mm of rainfall on Tuesday. The maximum temperature recorded in the city was 33.7 degrees Celsius, which was three degrees below normal. The minimum temperature settled at 27.5 degrees Celsius, which was one degree below normal. The forecast for Wednesday is a generally cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thunder storms, one or two maybe heavy in some areas.
“This being monsoon time, rain will continue in the Capital for the next 24 hours but some areas will get higher rainfall compared with others. For example on Tuesday, Palam area recorded heavier rainfall compared with other parts of the city,” said the weatherman.
As the sudden downpour caught people unaware, many could be seen taking shelter under flyovers.
