ERODE: Kovai Medical Care Centre and Hospital Limited (KMCH) will soon start a 125-bed speciality hospital in Erode. Nalla G. Palaniswami, chairman and managing director, told presspersons here on Wednesday that the hospital would provide specialised care in interventional cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery, pulmonology and nephrology and urology. In support of the above-mentioned fields, allied departments like a full-fledged, hi-tech laboratory, blood bank with component therapy, etc would also function in the hospital. The hospital was fully equipped to perform angiograms, angioplasties, open heart surgeries, valve replacements and procedures for congenital heart diseases. Dr. Palaniswami also said that 15-bed intensive care unit, two hi-tech operation theatres, air-conditioned rooms, single rooms, semi-private rooms and general ward would be available for in-patients. The inauguration of the hospital at 15 Palaniappa Street is on July 8.
