On display: ‘Bloom,’ an exhibition of artificial flowers in Bangalore
Bangalore: It may have been inspired by the spirit of Mungaru Male, but the exhibition of artificial flowers, “Bloom”, wants to “break the barriers of weather and seasons” by offering a range of well-crafted artificial flowers. Varieties
Organised by Kusal Indoor Garden, the four-day exhibition has artificial roses, dahlias, tulips, lilies, orchids, daisies, and many more splendid varieties from countries such as Thailand, China and Taiwan. “Artificial floral arrangements are not only lovely, but are also cost-effective, everlasting, tension free and realistic,” say the organisers. Made of silk and in several vibrant colours, the flowers, plants and flower arrangements; whether floral bouquets, fruit baskets or wreaths appear very close to what you find in nature. The prices however are higher than what you would pay for the real thing, with a single flower costing anything between Rs. 25 to Rs. 250 and bouquets for Rs. 500 to Rs. 2,500. The exhibition, which began on Monday at Chitrakala Parishath, ends on July 6.
