Kakinada: The East Godavari district unit of the Arya Vysya Maha Sabha distributed sarees to 75 poor women and also Rs.75,000 to a poor student for his engineering study at a function held here on Wednesday to celebrate the 75th birthday of Konijeti Rosaiah, Finance Minister, who hails from Vysya community. Mutha Gopalakrishna MLA, chief guest, distributed the sarees while Gullapudi Babji handed over the financial assistance to the engineering student, Kancharla Venkata Srinivas. Vadakattu Nagababu, president of the district Arya Vysya Maha Sabha, who presided, sponsored the sarees. Several Vysya community leaders, including Pydah Venkata Narayana, former chairman, District Library Authority, P. Kanakaraju, district secretary, Y. Kumar, treasurer, TSN Murthy Avoga president, Pulavarti Seetharama Murthy, Bachu Vasudevamurthy and Vadakattu Nehru attended. Chunduri Bapiraju and Peddi Rathnajirao described Mr. Rosaiah as a multifaceted personality.
