Illicit arrack seized

Chitradurga: In the raids conducted across the district, the Excise Department arrested one person and seized over 9,000 sachets of illicit arrack, 90 litres of illicit liquor and destroyed 20 litres of toddy.

Deputy Commissioner of Excise Department M. S. Tamboli said that the department has constituted four squads comprising four officials of the department in each squad. The teams were regularly conducting raids and seizing or destroying illicit liquor.

Mr. Tamboli said that besides excise, the police department was also conducting separate raids.
