Thiruvananthapuram: The City Corporation has launched a programme to distribute health cards to Kudumbasree workers involved in garbage collection. Minister for Forests and Housing Benoy Viswom launched the programme at a function here on Thursday. He was addressing a public meeting organised in this connection. Mr. Viswom said the involvement of the Kudumbasree mission had contributed to the success of the garbage collection system in the capital city. The Minister said the Kudumbasree mission had endowed women with a spirit of commitment and an awareness of their rights. Mechanism
Presiding over the function, Mayor C. Jayan Babu sought the cooperation of the public in streamlining the solid waste disposal mechanism in the city. Deputy Mayor V. Jayaprakash, chairman of the Health standing committee G.R. Anil, Corporation Secretary Johnson K. George and Health Officer D. Sreekumar were among those who attended the function.
