Haj: draw of lots on July 14

HYDERABAD: The ‘qurrah’ (draw of lots) to finalise the pilgrims for Haj 2007 from Andhra Pradesh will be held on July 14 at 9 a.m. at the Haj House here. This decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Haj Committee chairman, Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed here on Friday.

The qurrah became necessary in view of receipt of a large number of Haj applications.

This year the Haj Committee received a record 11,840 applications as against the State quota of 5,435.
