CHENNAI: Kamala Ramakrishnan took over as the International Inner Wheel President for the year 2007-2008 at a simple function held on July 4 at the headquarters of International Inner Wheel, Sale, Cheshire, United Kingdom.

She is the third Indian woman to hold this office, according to a press release from the Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in India. IIW has been in existence since 1924 and is now present in over 100 countries, with a membership of over 1,00,000 women from all walks of life.
