HYDERABAD: Secunderabad STC and Chennai STC entered the semifinals of the South Zone inter-SAI Sports Training Centre hockey tournament for seniors here on Thursday. Secunderabad defeated Eluru STC 5-0 in the final league match with T. Balagangadhar Tilak netting a brace and K. Satyamaheshwar Rao, B. Kasiviswanath and M. Sampath Kumar scoring once each. In another match, Chennai downed Kollam 3-1. Kollam shot into lead in the 26th minute through a penalty-corner conversion by N. Rajith. Winger B. Aswin equalised just before the break for Chennai, while David Arokiaraj and V. Vinod added two more goals. The other teams to enter the semifinals were Bangalore and Puducherry. Other results: League: Final round: Bangalore STC 3 (Kallappa, Nanaiah, Kalappa) bt Mylarthurai 0.
Puducherry 9 (Jagannathan 5, Dhayalam, Sellamuthu, P. Verma, Antony) bt Trichur 0.
