St. Joseph’s HS maintains unbeaten run

BANGALORE: St. Joseph’s HS maintained its unbeaten run in the St. Joseph’s High School inter-school hockey tournament with another thumping 5-0 win over St. John’s High School in the Centenary Shield for seniors.

Mavir Poonacha, P.N. Abhishek, Akshay Rao (two) and Pramod P. Harle scored for the winner in that order. Akshay Rao’s first effort was off a penalty corner.

In the juniors’ section for the Father Eric Vaz Memorial Trophy, St. John’s HS and Sarla Birla Academy played out a 2-2 draw. Henry scored both the goals for St. John’s, while Amarthya Ghosh and Abhay Jalan scored for Sarla Birla Academy.
