Medical staff suspended

SANGAREDDY: Medak collector B. Venkatesam suspended two employees of primary health center (PHC) Shankarampet of Andole mandal today. According to a press release here today the collector during a surprise visit to the PHC today found both the pharmacist Ramulu and laboratory technician Sayilu absent from their duties. He asked Sarojini Reddy the District medical and health officer to conduct a thorough inquiry. Later he visited PHC in Talelma village of Jogipet mandal and found that none of the staff was present. The locals told him that the staff left the hospital by 1 p.m. The collector advised the DM and HO to issue show cause notices to the absentee staff. The collector then asked the doctors to see that the PHCs function effectively particularly at the time of outbreak of epidemics like Gastroenteritis.
