Rs. 1.65 lakh earmarked for starting trade ventures
KARUR: During the current year, a total of 20 persons would be provided funds to the tune of Rs. 1.65 lakh from the Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing Development Corporation (TAHDCO) under the discretionary powers of the Collector; selected beneficiaries have been urged to submit the documents to avail themselves of the aid, Collector T.N. Venkatesh has urged.
Four persons would be sanctioned Rs. 10,000 each for buying milch animals, while as many would get the same amount for rearing sheep.
Five beneficiaries would get Rs. 5,000 for weaving ‘korai’ mats, while one person would be given Rs. 10,000 for selling footwear.
Three persons would be given Rs. 10,000 each for setting up petty shops, while a woman would be sanctioned Rs. 10,000 for buying gem-cutting machine.
Another woman-beneficiary would get Rs. 5,000 for getting sewing machine and yet another woman Rs. 5,000 for setting up a petty shop, the Collector said.
