Enhance skills, Airmen told

Staff Reporter

‘The Air Force has great ethos and tradition of selfless service”

TAMBARAM: During a passing-out parade at Tambaram Air Force Station last week, in which 333 Airmen were inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF), Air Commodore T. K. Varma, Air Officer Commanding of the Base, urged the recruits to improve and enhance their skills.

“Serving in the Air Force demands high standards of professionalism and dedication,” he said, calling upon them to imbibe the ten tenets of the code of Air Warriors. He said the recruits were joining the IAF, fourth largest Air Force in the world, which had great ethos and tradition of selfless service, which was “demonstrated both in war as well as peace.”

Training of Airmen was based on the modular pattern of training for optimum utilisation of manpower based on their levels of skills. He told the Airmen that they had acquired first line and basic knowledge of their trade and the remaining trade phase knowledge would be imparted in the subsequent modules. He distributed trophies to toppers belonging to the Workshop and Mechanical Training Institutes.
