Law on temple entry planned

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Devaswom Minister G. Sudhakaran has said that the Government is actively considering a new legislation to provide for temple entry on the basis of faith in addition to birth and religion.

Replying to a submission by T.N. Prathapan (Congress) in the Assembly on Thursday, Mr. Sudhakaran said the legislation was being contemplated taking into account the changes that had come about in the State after the Temple Entry Proclamation of 1936 and the emerging consensus in the State on temple .
