Attractive array: A girl taking a look at laces exhibited at the Fabrics and Fashions Expo, organised by Gartex Guide, in Tirupur on Thursday.
TIRUPUR: The five-day Fabrics and Fashions Expo began here on Thursday with nearly 200 participants exhibiting variety of garment accessories and fabrics.
South India Hosiery Manufacturers’ Association president Mohan P. Kandasamy inaugurated the fair in the presence of Tirupur Exporters’ Association vice-president Prem S. Duraisamy and Dyers Association of Tirupur former president N. Kandasamy.
The elastic tape and ropes manufacturing machine, exhibited by a Mumbai-based company, and lace varieties exhibited by a Chinese firm attracted the crowd on the first day.
A range of laces, fabrics, embroidery threads, yarns, stones and studs, packing materials and machinery displayed in the exhibition.
K. Balaji, organiser of the event, said that they would provide a special pavilion to Chinese firms in their next exhibitions as visitors and the exhibitors showing keen interests on the products.
