CHENNAI: Charges in a fake stamp paper scam case, pending before a Special Court for CBI cases here, will be framed against the accused, including alleged mastermind Abdul Karim Telgi, on July 17.
When the case came up for hearing, Telgi, Abdul Wahid and Jacob Chacko, lodged in the Yerawada jail, Pune, were produced via the video-conferencing facility introduced in the court. Telgi requested the Judge that he be produced in person. A petition was filed by his counsel in this regard. The Judge posted the petition for filing of counter and disposal on July 12. A similar request was made by Abdul Wahid.
Counsel said the charge sheet copy had to be checked before framing charges.
