Parliamentary panel visits hospitals

Thiruvananthapuram: A 12-member team of Members of Parliament, headed by chairperson of Women’s empowerment committee Manorama Madhavraj, visited two Government hospitals in the city on Thursday to assess the facilities there.

The MPs, accompanied by the Deputy Director of Ministry of Health Sushama Raat and other senior officials, visited the Parassala Government hospital and the community health centre at Poovar.

The team visited the maternity wards at Parassala hospital and appreciated the hygiene and cleanliness in the wards. The team is known to have suggested that the hospital be equipped with more diagnostic facilities such as CT scan.
