Krishnagiri: A team of Krishnagiri municipal officials and councillors inspected the pumping station and treatment plant of the Krishnagiri Reservoir Project here on Friday following complaints that contaminated water was being supplied to many parts of the town. Residents alleged that a foul smell emanated from the water. Team visits
The team led by municipal chairman Paritha Nawab inspected the pumping station and water treatment plant maintained by the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board at Sundekuppam on the Thenpennaiar River bed near here. Authorities said that the drinking water in Krishnagiri, which was greenish in colour, was expected to become clear in a day or two. A new treatment plant was being set up at Rs.2 crore. The plant would be commissioned shortly, sources said.
