KASARAGOD: Private bus operators in the district and students organisations here seem to be heading for a showdown following the decision of bus operators to stop the present rate of concession benefits to students from July 15. Various students organisations, which include the SFI, KSU, AISF, ABVP and the MSF said that they would not allow bus operators to unilaterally stop concession facilities in buses for students sanctioned by the Government. The district committees of the student organisations warned that they would resort to strong agitations. The bus operators said providing concession at the present rate would adversely affect the viability of services.
