HYDERABAD: Bangalore STC won the South Zone inter-SAI Sports Training Centre hockey tournament for senior boys with a 3-2 win over Secunderabad STC in the final here on Friday.
A field goal by winger Nanaiah put Bangalore ahead in the 14th minute and Madappa made it 2-0 just before the break. On resumption, Kalappa added one more goal (3-0).
Though Secunderabad fought back well and scored twice through G. Vijay Kumar and T. Balagangadhar Tilak, both field goals, the Bangalore outfit tightened its defence and ensured itself a victory.
