Campaign

CHIKMAGALUR: Members of Mahila Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party launched a signature campaign here on Friday to protest against the implementation of the Sethu Samudra project. B. Chandrakala, president of the district unit of the morcha, who inaugurated the campaign at Hanumanthappa Circle, said that her party condemned the proposal to demolish the Sri Ram bridge, which was a symbol of national heritage. Pointing out that the Centre’s action would hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus, she urged the authorities concerned to undertake an alternative project and save the ancient bridge.
