No differences with CPI: Achuthanandan

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan said on Friday that there was no difference between the CPI (M) and CPI over the evictions at Munnar.

Mr. Achuthanandan told presspersons after a Cabinet meeting that he had nothing more to say about his leading the takeover of land near the Gundumalay estate of Kanan Devan Hills Plantation Company than what he had stated in the Assembly. He said the Opposition allegations about lack of collective responsibility in the Cabinet were borne out of its desire that the Cabinet affairs should be like they were during the UDF rule.

The Cabinet had decided to authorise the Principal Secretary (Revenue) to hear the appeal over the cancellation of titles held by Dhanyasree Resorts at Munnar, as per the directive of the High Court. Till the matter was decided, the resort building would be sealed and held in Government custody.
