HYDERABAD: Real estate developers and builders of the twin cities will come under the scanner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for the first time when the registration process for giving licences commences on Saturday. Giving details of the regulations for registration of real estate firms, developers, builders and others involved in the trade, Additional Commissioner (Planning & Projects) K. Dhananjaya Reddy said on Friday that the licences will be issued within a day of applying and will be valid for five years. Talking to presspersons on Friday, he said the person applying for the licence should submit proof of income tax assessment for the past five years and a copy of the PAN card. He should be a graduate in architecture or civil engineering or construction management or its equivalent with those with five years experience as a class one civil contractor or 10 years as class two civil contractor. The Commissioner or an officer authorised by him will issue the licence for a prescribed fee. GHMC will maintain a register of the all the licensed builders/firms and it has the right to cancel the licence for contravention of any of the rules. If this happens, the licence has to be returned within a day and a fresh licence will not be issued for up to three years. A copy of the certificate of licence has to be submitted along with any building plan submitted for clearance.
