B.Tech examinations: The Basics of Computer System (F) paper of the third semester B.Tech examinations has been postponed from July 9 to July 11. All other examinations on that day will be held as per schedule.

On July 9 Engineering Geology (C), Machine Drawing-1 (M), Fluid Mechanics and Machines (N), Process Calculation (H), Electrical Machines-1 (E), Programming in C++ (TA), Control and Instrumentation (R), Microbiology (B) and the Engineering Drawing (PU) examinations will be held.

On July 11 the Building Drawing-1 (C), Civil Engineering Drawing and Estimation (MN) and Basics of Computer System (F) examinations will be held.

As notified earlier the sixth semester B.Tech examinations originally scheduled on June 22 will be held on July 11. The seventh semester examinations originally scheduled on June 23 will be held on July 10 while the fourth semester examinations will be held on July 17.

Entrance examinations: The entrance examination for the BA Mass Communication and Video Production (restructured) will be held at the Mar Ivanios College at 10 a.m. on July 9.

Applications invited: Applications have been invited from full time researchers in the SC/ST category — doing research under approved guides in teaching departments or approved research centres — for a one-time financial as sistance of Rs. 10,000.

This will be disbursed in three instalments for the purchase of books, stationery and for typing expenses. Those who have already submitted the thesis will not eligible. If a candidate does not submit the thesis five years after receipt of the assistance, the amount will have to be returned. The last date for submitting applications is August 16.

Tamil M.Phil: There are three vacancies in the general category and one in the SC category for the M.Phil programme in the Department of Tamil. Further information can be had on phone 0471—2418919.

Research fellow: There are two vacancies of project fellow in an UGC-aided research project at the Department of Zoology. The last date for submitting applications is July 30. Further information can be had from the Department of Zoolo gy on phone 0471-2418906.

BDS results: The results of the third BDS examinations held in April have been published. Applications for scrutiny and revaluation of answer sheets can be submitted till July 28.

M.Sc Physics: The viva of the fourth semester M.Sc Physics examinations will be held from July 18 to August 1. The detailed time table can be had from the examination centres. Candidates should come for the viva with their hall tickets .
