Buses detained

Irate residents in Somanur area on Friday detained four town buses near Thottipalayam on the Madappur road protesting against the attitude of the bus crew towards school children travelling with free bus passes.

Hundreds of parents, along with their children, detained the buses and accused the drivers and conductors of refusing to allow the school children with free bus passes to board the buses and also of ill-treating and abusing the children when they boarded the buses.

The residents had already petitioned the Collector.
