BANGALORE: The Ulsoor Gate Women Police Station Inspector Geetha Kulkarni was bitten by a stray dog at the Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital on Millers Road on Friday. Ms. Kulkarni was immediately taken to the hospital. Doctors put a few stitches as she had had suffered a deep wound on her right thigh, the police said. The incident took place around 11 a.m. when Ms. Kulkarni had been to the hospital to pay her last respects to the Ulsoor Inspector Naushad who died of injuries he had suffered in a road accident a few days ago. While Naushad’s body was being shifted to an ambulance on the hospital premises, Ms. Kulkarni inadvertently stepped on a puppy and the mother dog attacked her, the police said. According to the police, Naushad (52) was seriously injured after a goods vehicle hit his car in Jayamahal a few days ago. His wife and two children were also injured in the accident. Boy attacked
In another incident the same day, a six-year-old boy, Saawan D., was injured when a dog attacked him on 18th Cross, 2nd Main, in Banashankari II Stage. He is a student of Bishop Cotton Boys School. His father, Dattatreya, said the boy was playing with other children near his house when the incident occurred. He said the boy received injuries on his right cheek, hip and groin. The boy was rushed to Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospital.
