Gang of Malaysians held

Coimbatore: The police on Thursday arrested three Malaysians on charges of defrauding two jewellery shops in the city by making purchases using fake credit cards.

They purchased gold ornaments for Rs. 80,000. The shop owner, who became suspicious, alerted the police. Two Malaysian nationals of Indian origin, K. Manogarea alias Raja alias Gunarajan (47) and K. Ravichandran (42) along with a Malaysian national of Chinese origin Chong Ngee Seong (34) were arrested.

Police enquiry revealed they had committed similar frauds in other cities also.
