DMK cautions party activists

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leadership on Friday cautioned the party activists against filing nominations for the cooperative elections without consulting the alliance partners.

The DMK headquarters said in a release here that it had received reports that in some places DMK activists had filed their nomination papers against their own party colleagues and also alliance parties. Though cooperative elections were not fought on party lines, nominations should be filed after holding consultations with deserving alliance partners if they wanted to contest, it said.

The DMK headquarters would initiate disciplinary action against the party activists who violated this guideline, the release added.
