Relief for fire accident victims

KARAIKAL: Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on Friday distributed relief to families of victims of a fire accident at Drowpathy Amman Kovil Street here on Thursday.

As many as 85 houses and property worth nearly Rs.80 lakh were destroyed in the fire on Thursday. Nobody was injured in the accident. The families received cash, clothes and essential commodities.

The Chief Minister, accompanied by A.M.H. Nazeem, DMK MLA of Karaikal and Leader of the Opposition in Puducherry Assembly, N. Vasantha Kumar, Karaikal Collector, and other officials visited the accident site.
