B.Com student ends life

A B.Com second-year student committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at her relative’s house at Annapurnanagar in Uppal on Friday.

The police said Ghousia (19), a residence of Berappagadda in Uppal, took the drastic step after her lover Kalyan’s family members refused to perform her marriage with him.

Succumbs to injuries

An Intermediate first-year student, who suffered serious injuries after she fell down from the six-floor of the Narayana College building at LB.Nagar on June 28, died while undergoing treatment at the Osmania General Hospital on Saturday.

N. Pragathi (15), a resident of Reddypally village in Nalgonda district, was going to her classroom along with other classmates when her ‘chunni’ flew-off.

She tried to catch it but fell down from the six-floor as the railing of the staircase was short, the police said.

Contractor dies in accident

A contractor was killed after a tipper hit the motorcycle he was riding at Hasthinapur on Friday.

According to the police, Suresh (32), a resident of Telecom Colony, was going to Ibrahimpatnam when the accident occurred.
