ALAPPUZHA: Cooperation and Coir Minister G. Sudhakaran has said that a special meeting would soon be convened in association with the Industries Department to resolve problems faced by small-scale industries in the State. Speaking at a function for distribution of loans, organised by the Kerala State Small Industries Association district unit and Canara Bank at Vadackal here on Saturday, the Minister said that only proper utilisation of loans, with no diversions, would give positive results. At another function in Cherthala, the Minister also said steps would be taken to rejuvenate the coir sector. This would include dismantling non-profitable cooperative organisations. Plans were already being chalked out to restructure Coirfed.
