Old woman run over by car

NEW DELHI: An elderly woman was run over by a car at Mangolpuri here on Sunday. Shaguni (65), along with her son and daughter-in-law, was crossing the road at Mangolpuri ‘B’ Block traffic signal light around 9-30 a.m. when a speeding Wagon R knocked her down. She died on the spot.

The driver, Sudhakar (34), who runs a furniture shop, then took U-turn and drove off towards Madhuban Chowk. He abandoned the car at the Chowk and fled. He was later arrested and the car impounded.
