BSNL staff to stage dharna

VISAKHAPATNAM: In continuation to the ongoing agitation for delay in releasing the purchase order of GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication), the joint forum of BSNL’s executive and non-executive unions and associations have unanimously given a strike notice in New Delhi.

As per the programme, the employees will stage a dharna on July 9 and 10 near the Customer Service Centre in Dabagardens and observe a one-day strike on July 11.

According to a press release, tenders for the purchase of 45.5 million GSM lines (2G and 3 G) were floated two years ago but so far nothing was done.
