AISF sees bid to close down 6,000 schools
Correspondent
Kakinada: The Government was planning to close down as many as 6,000 schools in the State in the name of rationalisation and thereby shirking its responsibility on providing school education, M. Vemaiah, State general secretary of AISF, alleged here on Sunday.
Addressing the general body meeting of the AISF East Godavari district unit, he charged that the Government had prepared the ground to close down the schools with less than 20 students’ strength under the pretext of rationalisation.
Stating that the Government was coming out with the new idea of opening concept schools under joint participation of the Government and private managements, he alleged that it was aimed at privatising education making it a costly affair.
