Exnora to provide technical help to install two more water treatment systems in Musiri

TIRUCHI: Exnora International will provide all technical help to put up two more Decentralized Waste Water Treatment Systems (DEWATS) in Musiri Special Grade Town Panchayat said the project director, T.Vijay Anand on Thursday.
He was speaking at the Operation and Maintenance training programme for the staff of the Musiri Town Panchayat at Musiri.
First of its kind
The president of the panchayat, V.C. Sudhakar said that the DEWATS put up in the compost yard of the panchayat – the first of its kind in a town panchayat in the state was functioning very well and similar plants would help the panchayat to save Rs.2 lakh in the maintenance of the public toilets in the panchayat every year.
N. Murugesan, Executive Officer, Musiri Panchayat, said that the DEWATS was very environmentally friendly, cost effective and easy for maintenance without using any chemical, power or manual labour.
The district coordinator Exnora-Borda (Bremen Overseas Research & development Association) project, V. Ganapathy, said that the first DEWATS was put up at a cost of Rs.5.1 lakh with Exnora contributing Rs.2 lakh and the district administration Rs.3.1 lakh under the self sufficiency scheme.
The president of Tiruchi District Exnora, G. Subramanian, said that the gas generated in the DEWATS was being used for cooking purposes by the conservancy workers living in the compost yard.
