Basu appeals for support

KOLKATA: Veteran Marxist leader, Jyoti Basu, who stepped into his 94th year on Friday appealed to the Opposition to cooperate with the Government on “certain good work it has done like promoting industry.”

Speaking outside his Salt Lake residence where a crowd had congregated to greet him on his birthday, Mr. Basu said that “none could stop the Left Front in its victory march.”
