TIRUCHI: As part of computerisation of the country’s judicial system, laptops were distributed to 27 judicial officers in the district on Monday. The Principal District and Sessions Judge, S. Thangakani, handed over the equipment to the officers at a function organised on the premises of Combined Court Complex here. The first laptop was given to the First Additional District Judge, V. Ramamurthy. The distribution of laptops was carried out as per the direction of the Madras High Court, in the wake of the decision of the Supreme Court’s E-Committee to provide laptops to judicial officers, authorities said. The judicial officers would utilise the laptops to store a host of information including daily schedule, points for arguments, latest case laws, details of cases, details of disposal and citations. Computer training programme
They are undergoing a computer training programme at the National College here to have a first hand knowledge of cyber operations. The month-long training that commenced on July 2 will end on August 2. At Perambalur, the Principal District Judge, S. Kalavathi, handed over the laptops to 11 judicial officers of Perambalur, Ariyalur and Jayamkondam courts today.
