Probe into Pakistani contacts
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: Commissioner of Police Neelam Achuta Rao on Monday said they were yet to verify whether some Pakistani nationals who had visited Bangalore had given the address of Kafeel Ahmed as their local contact point or cited members of the family for purposes of reference.
According to police records, about 15 Pakistani nationals who came here to watch the Test cricket match between India and Pakistan in 2005 have gone missing. The authorities have confirmed to the local police that one of them had returned to Pakistan.
After the terrorist attack on the IISc, the Bangalore police, who had the photographs of the missing Pakistanis, had sought to verify whether they had any role in the incident. It transpired that they had no connection with the attack.
