GULBARGA: Masked dacoits raided a secluded house at Balaji Nagar in the city and escaped with gold ornaments estimated at Rs. 70,000 after beating up the aged couple staying in the house early on Tuesday. The police said the six-member gang broke into the house through window and beat up Shyamrao G. Kulkarni and his wife Kalavathi. They threatened them by brandishing knives and other weapons and took away the mangalsutra and other gold ornaments from them. This is the second dacoity in 15 days in Gulbarga and senior police officials visited the spot. A case has been registered in Station Bazaar Police Station. — Special Correspondent
