Warrant against cop in Katara case

NEW DELHI: A court here on Tuesday issued a bailable warrant against a sub-inspector of the Uttar Pradesh police for failing to depose in the Nitish Katara murder case. The sub-inspector will now have to appear before the court on July 27, the next date of hearing.

Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur issued the warrant when Sub-Inspector J. K. Gangwar did not appear before the court for deposition. As per prosecution, the Sub-Inspector had recovered the hammer allegedly used in the killing of Nitish Katara.
