GMR consortium bags Istanbul project

NEW DELHI: A consortium led by GMR Infrastructure has bagged a Rs. 11,000-crore (two-billion-euro) project to modernise the Istanbul’s second airport — Sabiha Gokeen International Airport. “We have to pay a licence fee of 1.93 billion euros ($2.57 billion) and we will invest 400 million euros in the beginning as part of the project cost,” GMR CFO Madhu Terdal told PTI.
