TDBA’s promotion plans

Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram District Basketball Association (TDBA) has initiated steps to promote the game in the district in a big way. The members of the newly-elected body of the TDBA met here on Monday and decided to focus its attention on developing the talent in schools and colleges in the district. TDBA has also taken steps to attract corporate houses to the game by organising inter-corporate tournaments.

The TDBA will organise a one-day carnival in the district. Regular coaching for school students during weekends throughout the year will also be conducted and the district body will provide coaches to schools which don’t have trainers. An orientation course for senior players, physical education teachers and trainers will also be held in the district.

The TDBA will offer consultancy services in the construction of basketball courts and will also provide movable posts with acrylic board, pressure release rings and other equipments to interested parties. A website will also be launched. — Principal Correspondent
