Inconvenience: A branch of a tree which fell in Bangalore last month, is occupying the entire pavement, hardly leaving any space for pedestrians to walk on Tuesday.

BANGALORE: Pedestrians negotiating the unrelenting traffic opposite the old BRV theatre are going to have several difficult days ahead after the authorities have finally woken up and started clearing away the massive branch of a tree which fell on the night of June 5. Luckily it fell in the police grounds and nobody was injured. One month and five days later, some labourers have turned up to cart away the remains.

They have industriously strewn branches and foliage all over the footpath, forcing pedestrians to hop off on to the road and march to their destination even as they prudently look behind them to avoid being mowed down by assorted vehicles. The labourers said it would take them four days to do the job.
