“I would walk rather than take Blueline bus”

New Delhi: Given a choice, even Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit would not prefer to travel by the Blueline buses which have gained notoriety for causing accidents.

“Given a choice, I would prefer to walk than board a Blueline bus,” Ms Dikshit commented when asked if she would herself feel safe boarding a Blueline bus. “We will be coming out with an advertisement soon to invite corporate houses to ply the buses. We might opt for setting up cooperatives to run these buses. This would eliminate the contract system,” she told reporters. The Chief Minister explained that all Blueline buses could not be withdrawn at one go as it would create a shortage and pose problems for the commuters. -- PTI
