Four get life term

Four persons were sentenced to life imprisonment by a fast track court in a murder case here on Tuesday.

According to the police, ‘Treasury’ Pandi, his son P. Umashankar (30) and four others murdered P. Kumaraguru at Usilampatti on 24.09.2005 in a dispute over money lending. The second FTC judge, M. Sekhar, sentenced Umashankar, N. Saiprasad (31), A. Pandiarajan (24) and P. Suresh (25) to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs.50,000 each. Pandi and Tamilraj were acquitted.
