Kerala University to computerise degree exams soon

Baby dedicates SAGE to the academic community
SAGE enables students to register online for examinations

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The University of Kerala will soon bring its B.A., B.Sc., B.Com examinations under a computerised system run on the indigenously developed System for Automated Governance of Examinations (SAGE).

This was stated by Vice-Chancellor M.K. Ramachandran Nair at a programme organised to dedicate SAGE to the academic community. The dedication was done by Minister for Education M.A. Baby.

Computerisation was initially done for the B.Tech. examinations and was later extended to the post graduate examinations. With degree examinations also getting computerised, 95 per cent of the university’s students will be covered by SAGE, he added.

The computerised system can be accessed at the ‘Any time Exam Information’ link in the University web site ‘ www.keralauniversity.edu.’

Direct access

Students can also directly access the page ‘kucc.keralauniversity.edu.’

The software developed in-house by the Kerala University Computer Centre enables students to register online for university examinations. Candidates can enter the portal by giving their date of birth in the prescribed format. They should then set a password to prevent unauthorised entries subsequently.

The students can use SAGE for getting individual results, for individual registration and for obtaining university transcripts.

The candidate can also get the results of previous semesters. By clicking on the relevant links a candidate can get the marks given for supplementary papers and for revaluations.

Authorised persons from the Colleges can access the system to get batch-wise results and for registering a batch of students for an examination.

University / college teachers can use the system to enter data relating to attendance levels, details of marks scored by candidates, details of internal assessments and other details that are now sent to the University by post. University staff can, for their part, enter data generated at, say, a centralised valuation camp.

SAGE can also help recruiting agencies / companies verify the genuineness of the documents and marks submitted by students to seek employment.
