Krishnagiri: The Social Welfare Department has invited proposals from non-Governmental organisations to run old-age homes in the district. According to a Collectorate release organisations, which were in the field of service for a minimum of two years and registered under the Indian Societies Act 1975, are eligible. The Government will provide assistance of Rs.2 lakh per annum to the old-age home. A spacious building with capacity to accommodate at least 40 aged persons was required to get subsidy from the government. Organisations, which meet the eligibility criteria, can obtain the application forms after providing necessary documents to the Social Welfare Department. Further information can be obtained from the District Social Welfare Officer (04343) 233717 at the Collectorate.
