36 more schools fall in line
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: As many as 36 more primary schools on Wednesday filed affidavits before the Karnataka High Court undertaking to impart education in Kannada or the medium of instruction in which they have been granted recognition, from the first standard this year.
The High Court had directed primary schools that approached it challenging the voluntary scheme and notices of de-recognition, to file the affidavits before July 18.
Notices
The schools were told that they would have to impart education from this year in Kannada or the medium in which they have been granted recognition, to students admitted to first standard.
These schools were served with notices of de-recognition after the State found that they were imparting education in English.
The Government had found that nearly 2,600 primary schools in the State had violated the undertaking they had given on the medium of instruction.
